The harvest season is a busy time in the agricultural calendar, but also a time of great satisfaction for the local people because houses are once again replenished ready to face the cold winter that is approaching. The apples, chestnuts, walnuts, grapes, quinces and pears give new colour to homes in the Trás-os-Montes region and are the basis of hundreds of recipes, closely guarded in the memory of the local people.
